Service Trip at the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge in Northwest Nevada
. Show your support of federal wildlife refuges, and their staff, and enable antelope to more easily roam at the Sheldon NWR.  (The Sheldon is nearby to the ill-fated Malheur NWR in Oregon, the one taken over in January of this year.)  Your presence is an affirmation of national public lands and your assistance to the employees is appreciated by them and the antelope! On Saturday, June 11, the Toiyabe Chapter will work under NWR Ranger supervision to clear out some old, unneeded fencing on the refuge.  To do this we must dedicate Friday and Sunday to travel because of the remote destination.  Learn about the refuge and its future while you are there and about what fence removal means to the antelope. The Saturday workday will require sturdy clothing, boots, thick gloves, and sun protection.  We will be camping in a remote area with little to no amenities, and so each person must bring everything she or he needs, including shelter, water and food for two overnights. Trip limit of 15.  Call or email the trip leaders David von Seggern (775-303-8461, vonseg1@sbcglobal.net), Dorothy Hudig (775-323-4835, hudig@sbcglobal.net), Tina Nappe (775-786-1178, tinanappe@gmail.com) for details.  We would like to have a roster complete by June 6, so contact us early.
