February 8 (Saturday) 8:00 a.m.
Churchill Butte Dayhike
. Hike near Silver Springs. We will scale the butte, overlooking historic Ft. Churchill, portions of the Emigrant Wagon route, ancient Lake Lahontan, the Pony Express Trail and Lincoln Highway. Learn some history of the area. Hike is about 9.5 miles RT with 2,200 feet of gain, all in the first four miles. Portions of the hike are off trail with steep descents. ND. February 9 (Sunday) 9:00 a.m.
Boca Springs Ski
. Cross-country ski to Boca Springs above Boca Reservoir off I-80. This 6-mile RT ski outing is for skiers with some experience and is relatively easy with no major grades. Boca Springs runs year-round, providing a little oasis in the midst of winter snowpack. DL. Leader: David von Seggern (775-303-8461; vonseg1@sbcglobal.net). Moderately Easy.

February 13 (Thursday) 6:30 a.m.
Monthly Program Meeting at Bartley Ranch
. Check website for detailed information on this event. 6:30-7:00 social; 7:00 program begins. ND. Leader: Holly Coughlin (ladyhiker1@att.net). Easy.

February 15 (Saturday) 8:00 a.m.
Virginia and Truckee Railroad Bed Dayhike
. Join us on a hike between Gold Hill and Mound House, near Virginia City. Trip is about 9 miles, downhill, with some off-trail. Learn some history of the area. A vehicle shuttle will be necessary. ND. Leader: T A Taro (775-530-2935). Moderate.

February 16 (Sunday) 9:00 a.m.
Echo Lakes Cross-Country Ski
. Moderate cross-country ski trip in the glacially-carved Echo Lakes Basin. Expect to see gorgeous granites, great geologic terrane, and hear the "Echo". All day trip. Bring lunch, water, sun-screen, and warm clothing. 6-7 miles and 200 feet of elevation loss or gain. Not for beginning skiers. ND. Leader: Ridge Walker (853-8055). Moderate.

February 22 (Saturday) 9:00 a.m.
Hope Valley Snowshoe and Soak
. Join us on a snowshoe trek that will start in Hope Valley and elevate along the road toward Burnside Lake. Trip will be about 5-6 miles in length and elevation around 1,200 feet. Must have some snowshoeing experience. We will have lunch at a nice spot with a great view. Optional soak at Grover's Hot Spring afterward; people will need to share rides to either leave after the snowshoe or go for the relaxing soak. Bring clothing for weather for conditions, plenty of water, and lunch. DOK. Leader: Holly Coughlin (331-7488; ladyhiker1@att.net). Co-Leader: Jim Call (420-6363). Moderate.

Outings Meeting and Potluck
