Backcountry Trail Maintenance Training
. Join Graham Stafford & Wes Hoskins from Friends of Nevada Wilderness in Kingston Canyon outside of Austin. Lagomarsino Canyon Dayhike
. Observe petroglyphs on this 11 mile RT hike with minimal 600 feet gain, but numerous stream crossings. Bring poles for rock hopping. Trip limit 12. DOK. Leader: Holly Coughlin (331-7488; ladyhiker1@att.net). Co-Leader: Pat Kleames (359-5089). Moderate.

Tahoe Rim Trail Volunteer Trail Building and National Trails Day Celebration
. Join me in helping the Tahoe Rim Trail Association build trail for the American Hiking Society's 20th annual National Trails DayŽ event! Come celebrate the start of our trail season by volunteering to build trail. The event begins at Van Sickle CA/NV Bi-State Park off Lake Parkway in Stateline, NV. Lunch will be provided! All skill levels and strengths are welcome - no experience required! You must register to participate. The John C two Enigma Hike
. The John C Two Enigma Hike is near Dayton. Discover some history of the area as we visit two features possibly associated with old mining operations. One-way hike of about eight miles with a vehicle shuttle. Elevation gain of about 1,200 feet for the day. Scenic views. Return paralleling part of the Carson River. Possible wildflower viewing. ND. June 5 (Tuesday) 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday Evening Easy Conditioning Hike
. Please join us for weekly easy evening conditioning hikes of 2 to 3 miles, in the valley and in the foothills, with minimal elevation gain. This is a great way to learn about the trails in our area, meet new people, discuss history, flora, and fauna as we hike, and get some great outdoor conditioning, all at the same time! June 6 (Wednesday) 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday Conditioning Hike
. These after-work hikes are geared to build up stamina for the longer weekend outings. Faster-paced, up to 1,200 feet of gain, and 4-5 miles in 2 hours. Will take time to observe different flora and fauna in the hills surrounding the Truckee Meadows. Bring water and trail shoes. Some trails do require leashes for dogs. June 7 (Thursday) 5:30 p.m.
Moderate Evening Conditioning Hike
. Join us for evening conditioning hikes of 3 to 5 miles at a moderate pace, with elevation gain under 800 ft. Discover trails and learn about nature and geology in and around the Truckee Meadows. Mount Rose Wilderness Invasive Plant Pull
. Join Graham Stafford & Wes Hoskins of Friends of Nevada Wilderness at Hunter Creek in the Mount Rose Wilderness. We will be pulling invasive weeds. The hike will be 5 to 6 miles roundtrip. DOK. South Yuba River

Donnelly and Division Peaks
. Join the Great Basin Peak Section to hike Donnelly Peak (8,520') in the Calico Range on Tuesday & Division Peak (7,198') in the Division Range on Wednesday, both west of the Black Rock Desert. Summit Lake ISA Fence/Exclosure Project
. Join Graham Stafford & Pat Bruce of Friends of Nevada Wilderness. We will be building an exclosure on a spring near Mahogany Creek, near the Summit Lake Reservation. This a family friendly event. Riffle Peak
. We'll start the hike from Incline Lake to access the Tahoe Rim Trail at about 2 miles+ we reach the Rose Knob Peak section. We will go west on the trail and about 3.5 miles we will go off trail and cross-country to the peak. Great 360 degrees views! Learn about flora and fauna. Hike about 12 miles. DOK. Santa Rosa Wilderness Trail Maintenance
. Join Graham Stafford & Brenna Archibald of the Nevada Outdoor School. We will be doing general trail maintenance in the Santa Rosa Wilderness north of Winnemucca. All meals except lunch provided. Kings Canyon
. Kings Canyon near Carson City to Spooner Summit day hike. About 2,000 ft gain on this in and out on the old stage route. 18.2 miles. Learn some history of the area and enjoy some views. Several springs along route, and some wildflowers. Option to view scant remains of one-time logging railroad. ND. Leader: T A Taro (775-530-2935). Moderately Strenuous.

June 23 (Saturday) 8:00 am
Rubicon Trail
. Hike along Lake Tahoe shore from D.L. Bliss Park to Emerald Bay. 9 miles round-trip. Observe flora and fauna along the way. Minimal elevation change. ND. Leader: Craig Mastos (775-348-1862; maquis@softcom.net). Moderate.

June 24 (Sunday) 8:00 a.m.
Emerald Bay
. We'll start at Emerald Bay State Park and hike towards Vikingsholm, with a short side trip to the falls. We'll visit Vikingsholm and talk about how this private property managed to save one of the few virgin stands of timber in the Tahoe Basin. We'll then continue on to Rubicon Point at D.L. Bliss State Park. 7.5 miles if it's a shuttle, for the hardy ones will return the same way for 15 miles. ND. Leader: Donna Inversin (775-315-6763; donnanv1@gmail.com). Moderate.

Longest Day Evening Hike
. Hike to the top of "Road to Nowhere" peak, the highest one on the skyline east of Reno. Discover this little known locale and learn the geology of the surrounding terrane. Six miles RT and 1,500 ft elevation gain. Brisk pace, not for beginning hikers. We will take advantage of the latest sunset and the longest twilight of the year, to march beyond sunset. DL. June 29 - July 1 (Friday-Sunday) TBA
Emigrant Trails in the Black Rock
. We'll probably leave Friday evening and head up to meet a group of Trails West people who are doing a survey of the Emigrant trail between Double Hot Springs and Mud Meadows abut 20 miles north. Some hiking, driving, time in hot springs. We'll probably visit the ghost town site of Hardin City and the Lassen-Clapper Murder site nearby. Sorry, no RV's or Trailers, 4 WD strongly prefered. Loch Leven Dayhike
