Raymond Lake Dayhike
. Hike on the Pacific Crest Trail from Sunset lake to beautiful Raymond lake in the Mokelumne Wilderness. If time allows, we might bag the peak. High open views of surrounding mountains. With some luck, learn about late blooming flowers. About 14 miles RT and elevation gain about 2,000 ft. Bring the ten essentials, water, and food. Hiking boots are required. DL. National Public Lands Day in the Black Rock
. Join other Black Rock enthusiasts on this work-and-play weekend in the Black Rock. We'll probably meet up Friday evening and head on up. On Saturday, we will work on a variety of projects. In the past these have included building buck and pole fences around sensitive sites, closing illegal road trespasses, removal of barbed wire fences, and removal of invasive weeds. We'll have something for various skills and interests. Learn about the area and probably visit local hot springs. Some food provided. Sign up after 9/1. DL. Leader: David Book (775-843-6443). Mt. Rose Dayhike
. Join us on a fall hike up Mt. Rose. Trip is about 10 miles and 2,400 feet of gain. Must be conditioned for a peak bag. Observe Mt. Rose Wilderness. Trip limit 16. DOK. Leader: Holly Coughlin (331-7488). Moderately Strenuous.

September 24 (Saturday) 8:00 a.m.
Thunder Mountain in Carson Pass area
. Thunder Mountain near Carson Pass day hike. About seven miles with about 2,000 feet of elevation gain on an in and out hike. Scenic views on an established trail mostly on a ridge line. Learn some history about the area. ND. Leader: T A Taro (775-530-2935). Moderately Strenuous.

Last Wednesday Conditioning Hike
. Join us on our last after-work hike. We will hike 3-4 miles with 500-800 feet of gain. After the hike, plan on a social get-together for a drink, dinner, or both to celebrate our summer season of outings. DOK. Leader: Holly Coughlin (473-1445). Moderate.

Hot Springs and Cool Nights
. We'll be camping at a hot spring in the Black Rock and visiting other hot springs in the area. We'll be right on the route of the Emigrant Trail so we'll learn about the Black Rock, hot springs, and the Emigrant trail. The days and nights are starting to cool off and there are fewer visitors so this is a great time to visit the Black Rock! Leader is very familiar with the area. Sign up after 9/1. DL.
