Fast-Paced Conditioning Hike
. Join us for a fast-paced hike in the hills of the Truckee Meadows. Hikes are 4-5 miles RT and generally 1,000 feet gain or more in two hours. Bring water, clothing for weather, and hiking boots. June 2 (Thursday) 5:30 P.M.
Moderate Evening Conditioning Hike
. Join us for conditioning hikes of 3 to 5 miles at moderate pace with elevation gain under 800 feet. Discover trails in and around the Truckee Meadows. Biz Johnson Mountain Bike Ride (Weather Pending)
. Ride your mountain bike on a well-graded, old, railroad bed outside of Susanville in forested hills. Ride has about 500 overall feet of gain. We will travel about fifteen miles out, have a nice lunch stop, and ride back. Must have helmet. Rain or snow cancels. ND. Leader: Holly Coughlin (331-7488). Co-Leader: Mike Sullens (331-7488). Annual Buckbean Mixer
. Join us on Thursday, June 9th at the Buckbean Brewery for our annual Sierra Club mixer. Enjoy mingling with club members and help support one of our area's finest breweries. Please plan on indulging in the beer, wine and water available for purchase. The club will furnish light snacks. Come by between 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Buckbean is located at 1155 S. Black Rock Archaeology Survey
. Join other interested volunteers on a mapping and surface survey of a section of the Emigrant Trail near High Rock Canyon in the Black Rock. We'll be having a potluck dinner on Saturday and depending on time may visit nearby Soldier Meadows Hot springs or other Hot Springs on the way out. Sign up after 5-15. DL. Humbug Trail
. Hike from North Bloomfield to the South Yuba River on Malakoff Diggins Homecoming Day. Learn about the mining days. 6 miles RT, 1000 feet elevation. ND. Leader: Craig Mastos (348-1862; maquis@softcom.net). Moderate.

June 11 (Saturday) 8:00 A.M.
John C Two Enigma
. Near Dayton, discover some history of the area as we visit two features associated with old mining operations. One-way hike of about eight miles with a vehicle shuttle. Elevation gain of about 1,200 feet for the day. Scenic views. Return paralleling part of the Carson River. ND. Leader: T A Taro (775-530-2935). Moderately Strenuous.

June 12 (Sunday) 9:00 A.M.
Needle Rock and Big Mama Peak Bag
. Outing is in the Virginia Mountains near Pyramid Lake. Not for beginners as we will be climbing 2,000 feet, some off-trail, and 6-8 miles RT. Interesting rock formations and fantastic vistas. DOK. Leader: Pat Kleames (359-5089). Co-Leader: Holly Coughlin (331-7488). Moderately Strenuous.

Rubicon Trail
. Hike from D.L. Bliss Park to Emerald Bay. 9 miles RT, negligible elevation. Learn about the lighthouse and the osprey nests. ND. Leader: Craig Mastos (348-1862; maquis@softcom.net). Moderate.

June 19 (Sunday) 8:45 a.m.
Carson River through Brunswick Canyon
. We'll meet in Carson City at the mouth of Brunswick Canyon. The crossroads are Deer Run Road and Brunswick Canyon Road. We'll then shuttle to the Santa Maria Ranch Estates in Dayton. From there we'll follow the course of the Carson River back to Deer Run Road. Beautiful vistas of the river and canyon area. Learn about the history of the stamp mills and the narrow gauge railroad that serviced them. We do have to leave the river a couple of times and climb up and over mesas, but the elevation gain is minimal. 9.5 miles RT. DOK. Leader: Donna Inversin (775-315-6763; d_inversin@yahoo.com). Sunflower Peak Dayhike
. Climb approximately 2,500 feet into Mt. Rose Wilderness to the summit of Snowflower Peak at 10,243 feet. The change in elevation will bring us into contact with a greater variety of wildflowers and habitats. This is a Great Basin Peak Hike. Approximately 9 miles RT. Longest Day Evening Hike
. Hike to the top of "Road to Nowhere" peak, the highest one on the skyline east of Reno. Six miles RT and 1,500 ft elevation gain. Brisk pace, not for beginning hikers.
